From skeletons and ghosts through to pretty wreaths and garlands, there are lots of different ways to decorate your home for Halloween.
Window and door decorations, lanterns and fairy lights are a great way to ‘spook up’ your house and set up frights and scares for visitors! Hanging bat, spider and witch cut-outs, sparkly ghosts and carved pumpkins can be either creepy or cute depending on the look you are going for. And you don’t have to break the bank – there are lots of places on the high street and online that sell hundreds of different bits and bobs starting at just a couple of pounds.
If you prefer a more subtle approach, a wreath is a great way to add a bit of colour to your front door and it can either be classy or creepy! The same goes for garlands that you can hang over the mantelpiece or have winding its way up the stairs. Colourful autumnal leaves, twigs, and fairy lights can come together to form something really pretty but still with that Halloween style. Have a look at these fabulous design ideas for wreaths and garlands that you could have a go at making yourself if you’re feeling creative!
Of course, we mustn’t forget the humble pumpkin, pretty much everyone’s favourite Halloween friend! You can carve them into pretty much any expression you like (and don’t throw away the pulp when it can be made into a delicious pumpkin cake, pumpkin cookies, or pumpkin pie!) but if you don’t fancy all that hard work with a sharp knife, don’t carve, paint! Yes, for Halloween 2017, you can transform a pumpkin without any of the complicated carving AND have it in any colour you want, so if orange isn’t for you, grab yourself a can of paint and away you go!
However you decide to adorn your home this Halloween, we hope you have fun doing it and love the final effect.
