Remember, remember, the 5th of November….

Now the frights and excitement of Halloween have melted away into the dark for another year, the next winter diary date is Bonfire Night on 5 November. Yes, fireworks, sparklers and bonfires are on their way again so it’s time to get well wrapped up with scarves and mittens and pack your pockets full of treacle toffee!

There are plenty of great bonfire and firework displays in and around Chester this year, running from this coming Friday through to the big night itself so below are a few of the local events. 

Friday 3 November

remember remember 5th novemberEllesmere Port & District Lions Club are holding a community firework spectacular starting 7:30pm. Gates open at 4:30pm with a bucket collection for local charities and there will be a funfair and food outlets on the site. Click here for details about this event on their Facebook page.

Chester’s Five Villages will hold a family-friendly free bonfire night event at 7pm at Mollington Village Hall. This is a fun, great value family night out with a hot dog and sparkler for just £1.50 and also a pop-up pub! Contact Judy Morgan on 01244 851678 for more details.

Saturday 4 November

Chester Lions Firework Fun Night is being held at Chester Racecourse with a funfair, food, and live music. Gates open at 5pm with toddlers’ fireworks at 6:45pm and the main display at 7.30pm. You can find more details here.

Deeside Leisure Centre is holding a firework and bonfire display with a funfair and refreshments. This is a family friendly evening with the bonfire being lit at 7pm and the firework display about 7:20pm. For full details, click here.

Sunday 5 November

easter-fire-384602_640The Greyhound Inn in Saughall is holding the Annual Saughall Colts JFC bonfire and fireworks display from 6pm. Food and drinks available from the bar and a BBQ and the bonfire will be lit at 6:30pm with fireworks at 7pm. Contact The Greyhound Inn on 01244 881122 for more information.

The Chester Fields Country Pub and Restaurant in Mickle Trafford is holding their Annual bonfire and fireworks display. A hog roast, drinks and a DJ will be outside for non diners. You can find full details about this event here.
