With 27,000 animals in 125 acres of award-winning zoological gardens, the amazing South East Asian adventure which is Islands the most ambitious UK zoo project in history, 1.6 million visitors every year and the many conservation projects the zoo are involved with, at home and abroad, no wonder Chester Zoo one of the world’s top zoos, and the UK’s number one wildlife attraction.

It’s not all just about animals – Chester Zoo is also home to award-winning gardens which reflect their passion for plants. There are many gardens for you to explore in the zoo, which are all part of Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction and carefully maintained by our Horticulture and Botany team.

There are plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained (it is even fun when the weather isn’t on your side).
