Band play at wedding reception in walled garden

What made you choose Rowton Hall Hotel as your venue?

1. Stunning Setting: "The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and picturesque landscapes, providing a perfect backdrop for our special day. The charm of the venue truly captured our vision for a romantic, wildflower garden party."

2. Versatile spaces: "Rowton Hall offered a variety of both indoor and outdoor spaces. The walled gardens provided a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and drinks reception - Meg loves flowers! We had our band play in the gardens in the afternoon, and in the sun it felt like a mini festival! The ballroom was perfect for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. The room was spacious and beautiful. We loved how the conservatory acted as a perfect link between inside and outside, providing a great place for our guest book and gifts table."

3. Exceptional Service: "From our first visit, the events staff made us feel welcomed and valued. Their professionalism and attention to detail reassured us that our day would be handled with care and precision. Abbey and Amy were absolutely brilliant, thank you!"

4. Very tasty food: "All of the food was absolutely delicious!"

5. Convenient Location: "The venue was easily accessible for our guests, with ample accommodation options and parking on-site. This made it convenient for everyone to celebrate together without the stress of travel. Meg also loved how Rowton Hall has a spa and a beautiful, large bridal suite, which provided the perfect place to get ready with her bridesmaids. Meg stayed the night before and had a spa afternoon with her mum and bridesmaids, so was well rested for the big day!"

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Meg's favourite part: "My favourite part was being able to host our ceremony and afternoon drinks reception in the beautiful walled gardens. Walking down the aisle and seeing the gardens set up with all our flowers and Tom at the end of the aisle, felt like a fairy tale. The gardens were perfect for our afternoon drinks, where we had an amazing time catching up with guests, playing garden games and enjoying the live music. I didn't stop smiling the entire time!"

Tom's favourite part: "My favourite part was the evening reception and dancing the night away. The ballroom was the perfect location to celebrate our wedding with our closest family and friends."

What did you wear?

Meg wore a sparkly A-line dress with floral embroidery and bows. "I felt like a true princess! The dress was from My Funny Valentine in Chester and it was altered by a really lovely and talented lady called Lucy, from Lucy Hartshorn Couture." Meg's bridesmaids wore wildflower embroidered dresses from ASOS. Tom and his groomsman wore blue tweed suits from Slaters Menswear. "I was lucky enough that one of my best men, Charlie, works there and was able to provide exceptional service as always."

Tell us about your wedding theme and how you dressed the venue?

"Our wedding theme was wildflower, garden party vibes! Meg loves to craft, so most of our decorations were hand-made, which we think made it more special! Meg created our place settings from handmade pressed flower paper. She also created our table cards and favours- tasty biscuits of course! On Etsy, we ordered a personalised icing cutter- it was such an easy and affordable way to provide a personalised and pretty-looking favour for the tables. Tom's dad made our welcome board for us, which was so kind of him! Meg painted and decorated it, using her favourite metallic pink paint! Meg decorated our pallet, adding the order of the day, lots of photos of our friends and family, not forgetting some very sparkly fairy lights! Meg's grandma was an absolute star and baked the huge heart chocolate wedding cake for us. With help from Meg's mum and bridesmaids, Amy and Alice, Meg decorated the cake with Swiss meringue icing and edible dried flowers, sourced from Etsy!"

"For our flowers, Ellie from Thistle and Thyme provided us with the most beautiful bouquets, stem jars and displays. I was blown away by how pretty they were and how well they fit the theme and the venue! Our homegrown stems of lavender and eucalyptus added to the decoration on tables and chairs, matching the beautiful chair sashes provided by the lovely Hayley from Simply Bows and Chair covers. Meg also painted a tree that guests could add their fingerprints too, as a fun guest book experience! Finally, we absolutely loved our evening celebrations- we had sparklers, glow sticks and a really fun Magic Mirror from AA Decorative- the mirror fit so well in the corner of the ballroom and guests seemed to love posing for photos with the props! We loved how guests could keep their photo but we could also keep one in our guest book and on a USB stick- fantastic memories to keep!"

Photographer: Who were they and why did you choose them?

"Amy from Postbox Photography Studio was our photographer. Amy was amazing both on the day and in the build up to the ceremony. Neither of us particularly enjoy having photos taken, but felt really at ease with Amy. She was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and professional and her photos are beautiful!"

Words of wedding wisdom?

Tom's wise words: "As long as you're both there, nothing else matters. So just enjoy the planning process and the day and remember you're marrying your favourite person and couldn't be luckier." Meg's wise words: "Don't worry about buying a second dress for the party- PJs are much comfier and better for dancing!"
